Overcoming Bone Loss

Zygomatic dental implants are typically recommended for individuals who have a severely weakened upper jawbone or significant bone loss due to dental conditions, accidents, or other health-related reasons. This makes them an excellent solution for patients who may not have enough healthy jawbones left to support traditional implants.

Zygomatic implants are a less invasive and more efficient option since they can be fitted with prosthetic teeth in just a few visits, eliminating the need for lengthy procedures such as bone grafting. Overall, zygomatic dental implants can provide a long-term solution if you need a tooth replacement but may not have suitable bone density for traditional implants.

Discover The Zygomatic Implant Process

When it comes to treatment, we want to ensure every step of your smile transformation is seamless and personalized. To do this, we begin with an in-depth consultation that discusses your smile concerns, medical history, and smile aspirations. We’ll then obtain digital X-rays and 3D scans of your mouth to determine your candidacy and begin building your treatment plan. We want to create a treatment plan that provides you with the outcome you want.

On the day of your surgery, we’ll administer your preferred sedation and follow the surgical guide that directs Dr. Greenwell to the preplanned implant positions within your zygomatic bone. By following our full mouth dental implant protocol, we’ll strategically place 4-6 dental implant posts to ensure optimal durability and create a stable foundation. Once your implants are placed, we’ll attach the abutment and your temporary restoration.

Over the course of the next 4-6 months, your mouth will heal through a process called osseointegration, where your dental implants will fuse to your jawbone to create a strong foundation for your final set of teeth. Once healed, we’ll place your final restoration so you can enjoy a lifetime full of healthy smiles!
